What does forgive mean
Is it tears are dry
If indeed thats true
Then alas Ive lied

Do I comprehend
Is it no more hurt
The empty stinging pangs
And futile life of earth

What is memory
If not relive the pain
A healthy draught poison
Comfort for the insane

What is endless love
Any value for to see
Blessing or a curse
From that I wont be free

What does it mean forgive
To move beyond those tears
Perchance relief and rest
Freedom from all these years

another day it ends
my god how time doth fly
the suns zenith down
with shadows near my eyes

the warmth of sun descend
the red dusk yellow hue
the wind soft growing breeze
and daylight hours too few

my students pensive think
on test they do sweat
self resolve oh so strong
seek honors befit

their dreams await for them
with youth and promise still
to climb to heights unknown
great honors fulfill

the night it falls on day
no forebode fear nor pain
a chance recoup relax
and dream of plans attain

and now the night has fall
like strangely welcomed friend
not terror but of hope
disasters mete to rend
